EVERY child needs to know the basic number bonds which lie at the heart of all mental arithmetic. This app provides a fun way to discover and commit to memory all pairs of numbers adding up to all possible totals from 0 to 12.

To begin with, there are five pairs of pages to cover number bonds of 0 to 3; 4 and 5; 6 and 7; 8 and 9; and 10. The first page in each pair provides endless sets of number tiles with which to play at making the required totals, using only drag and drop.

The second page of each pair presents you with questions on flash cards. You can use these pages either in ‘play’ mode or in ‘test’ mode. Playing with the flash cards helps you to get used to how the page works, and testing yourself gives a target to aim for: i.e. answer all the questions posed in the shortest possible time with as few mistakes as possible.

Each page has its own scoreboard where you can keep an eye on your success and progress, measured in terms of both accuracy and speed.

Three additional pages of flash cards allow you to consolidate your knowledge of all number bonds up to and including 10 and then extend it to include numbers bonds of 11 and 12.
